National Lacemaking Day

Enjoyable day at a garden centre in Arborfield demonstrating lace to the public. National lacemaking day is the first Saturday in September. North downs lacemakers have always demonstrated on this day to raise awareness and try and keep a dying art going.

I have been lacemaking for around 12 years now and I thoroughly enjoy it. I have other hobbies so don't always get enough time to work on a project.

Our group is an eclectic mix of mainly ladies (one male member) of different ages, although mainly over 60 years of age.
