Crrunnnchhhh!!!

Crispy leaves in the gutter at Grasmere St, Timaru.

These will be the last leaves on the road as the beautiful trees mature trees that line the street are to be cut down later this year. My wife remembers growing up in the street that the sweepers used to patrol the street daily, picking up the leaves and keeping the gutters clear.

Seems the leaves were never an issue in those days, but today the council doesn't want to pay for this anymore, so it's goodbye tree-lined street. And they definitely don't seem to be giving a shit this year, almost trying to prove a point. What a shame.
