Concrete Slayer...
Today was the final of a summer of skate jams across the country. Based on a points system with people accumulating on a leader board, joining up various jams organised directly by us or helping out as part of the what has been named the Concrete Slayer Series.
As with most of these big events, the master woodsmith of Dundee, Daryl Smith, has taken a load of old used skateboards and fashioned them into a stupendous trophy in the shape of massive Thor-ian Hammer.
The trophy for the inaugural Concrete Slayer competition went to Martin 'Socks' Macguire who has been skating brilliantly and consistently all summer and turning up at all but one of the events across the series. Consistenly throwing down huge mental tricks and always coming up with the oddest takes on skating our nation's skateparks that nobody else thinks of.
This is Kieran who landed this rather steezey nose blunt at the top of a huge flat bank. This bank is about 12 feet of steepness on the other side. Overall he came second in the whole competion across the summer but if I remember right, there were literally 1 or 2 points in it.
A brilliant end to the summer skate jams.
