Salame al cioccolato
Chocolate salame not salami please ;)
This was actually made on Friday and chilled for a little treat this Saturday. It is an easy recipe that is an old childhood favourite of mine and very useful when you have a lot of leftover biscuits to use...
Ingredients:
2 egg yolks
50 g butter
4 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons dark cocoa powder
1 tablespoons rum or as desired
150 g ground biscuit
1.Whisk well together egg yolks and 2 tbsp sugar
2.Mix the remaining 2 tbsp sugar with 3 tbsp dark cocoa powder and the rum; whisk to combine.
3.Combine melted (but room temperature) butter with eggs-chocolate mixture and whisk until well combined.
4.Add the cookies to egg-chocolate mixture; stir to well combine.
5.Using your hands, form chocolate-cookie mixture into a log (resembling a salame)
6.Place the log on a sheet of plastic wrap or baking paper; wrap tightly.
7.Chill chocolate-cookie mixture until firm, I keep it in the freezer
Very productive day spent hunting for technical gear, cinema and dulcis in fundo a Fondue chinoise for dinner.
