Mirror Doctors

As we were preparing for the move to Boston, I noticed that the antique mirror that hangs over the dining room sideboard has started to fall apart.  The frame at the bottom right hand corner has popped its mortise and tenon joint so that the glass has slid out of alignment, and is in danger of ultimately escaping its gilded boundaries altogether!

Fortunately there is a talented furniture restorer nearby, and he and his assistant arrived this morning to take my poor ailing mirror to the "hospital" for emergency treatment.  Here they are, graciously allowing me to use them as my subjects for today's journal entry.
