Icky Day
The latest on the Sawmill Fire which started Sunday south of Tucson, about 10 miles southeast of Green Valley. Here's the latest irony: we don't want a stupid wall built along our border. It's terrible for wildlife (which knows no borders, like the only jaguar in North America, the Tohono O'odham Nation, and the southern AZ/Sonoran, MX economies). So, who set the fire? An off-duty US Border Patrol Agent, shooting at explosive targets up there during a Red Flag (high fire danger) Warning!
Officials say high winds expected today could hamper efforts to halt and extinguish the fire, which is now 40% contained. High winds Thursday forced officials to ground firefighting aircraft. The fire has already crossed one mountain range and burned across a desert valley, consuming 47,000 acres (74 mi2/190 km2). I can't wait for this to be over!

On a personal note, I'm on my way to my mother's house. She is not doing well. After assessing the situation, I may have to call for the paramedics. She is weak, shaky, and afraid to move. Frankly, I should be there already. Say a little prayer for her, okay?
