Rowans (2)
A month ago today I blipped the early rowans in the garden, which were in sunshine.
Today feels like autumn, with an overcast sky , a chill wind and a smirr of rain in the air. But the rowans are now in full berry and they are very heavy indeed. In fact I don't think I have ever seen them so laden with fruit.
Last month a number of people commented that this phenomenon was meant to presage a hard winter. That is what I have always been told too, though it is ridiculed by many others.
If it is correct though, we had better batten down the hatches for the coming months !
(BTW - this is best seen LARGE)
