HAMMERERS!!!!

This isn;t the best pic and it wasn't even the best choice of the day but it says it all about things at the moment.

They are digging up the road downstairs and when I say digging up, they are actually digging DOWN... about 10 meters. To make it 'safe' to dig that far, they drive these poles into the ground so the walls don't cave in. Hundreds of them are slammed into the ground by huge machines. They were at it when I left at 7:15 this morning and they are still going now and it's 10:15pm. They huge HUGE machines, two or three at a time to hammer in these (about) 10 meter long steel tubes.

If you can imagine a jackhammer but about 100 times louder, that's what these machines sound like and they are literally outside the front door of the apartment building. The building is actually vibrating. I'm not sure what time they finish, but I remember when they did a section a little further away, they were still going till at least at 11pm one night. That will make it a bit tough to get to sleep tonight.
