Airport socks

These socks were begun in Oaxaca, but I call them airport socks because I spent many hours waiting in airports en route to Australia (12 in LA), and working on these helped pass the hours.
I dyed the wool with marigolds while still in Alaska and took it to Mexico. Marigolds are widely used in Oaxaca for decorations for the Day of the Dead, feeding chickens (turns the skin and eggs a beautiful shade of yellow) and also for dyeing wool for rug weaving.
