An Artist's Life

Aw rats...

The weeping giraffe turned out to be a plugged well-pump, which can only be inspected and repaired by pulling the entire kit out of the well....all 215 feet of pipe and a 2.5 hp pump that weighs about 65 lbs. These 2 guys, a father-son team, worked on that pump for 3 or 4 hours; put it all back together and into the well. I was ready for the worst when Bill handed me the bill, but a smile lit my dial when I saw $150....not $1,500. I made them lunch and the giraffe weeps no more. Now more like an elephant hosing herself after a mud-bath.
