Red and green

Came to the beach house for the weekend, and have been met by persistent, and at times very heavy rain. It eased late in the afternoon, and I went outside to get a photo. This flower appealed.

A little later, I went for a walk on the edge of the water, from Southend around the point and back up the steps from our beach. Only saw a couple of birds; the rest had retired for the day, given the weather and the lateness of the hour.
