Kick Horse

This a very popular Vietnamese board game that I always see being played on pavements, streets and parks. I only ever seem to see older men playing it and as you can tell from this photo the women really don't show any interest in it what so ever! It is known as da'ngu'a or literally "kick horse". It is played to traditional Asian rules, and a single piece blocks the movement of another, so it is necessary to kick the opponents piece out of the way to advance. This is usually done with great flourish and satisfaction!

Boy are my legs paying for yesterday's run! Despite being a bit stiff and sore I've had a great day. Hanoi Social Club for breakfast, picked up some great clothing deals, found a very cheap gym to start working out in, amazing dinner and sangria at La Salsa Tapas Bar, and finished it off with a lovely night-time walk around Hoan Kiem Lake. I do love this city!!

I havn't had much time to browse through my fellow blippers journals of late but will definitely catch up over the next few days. Thank you for all the lovely comments I've been getting on mine :). Its truly appreciated.
