Dun Na Cuaiche, Inveraray

We had a good day!   The HG, who is feeling much better, wanted to test out his legs on a climb, so we motored up to Inveraray and climbed up Dun Na Cuaiche to the folly at the top, overlooking the village.

It was fabulous, the sun shone for us at the summit, and we sat and took in the view for quite some time.  Then we were joined by four Canadians, who were on a course at Glasgow University and spending the Bank Holiday up in Inveraray.  We had a great chat about Canada and life in general and took some photographs for them.

Then up came three young girls; I took them for schoolgirls, and we offered to take their photographs too; turned out they were in their first year as teachers in Aberdeen, such lovely girls, they made me feel quite old.  They had climbed up to try to clear their hangovers from the night before, they said, must have had a good night.

Back down at the castle, we had coffee and cake, and a wee walk around as the HG was feeling good.  And we watched a game of Shinty!!!! (see extra).

Then we started off for home, stopping at Duck Bay on Loch Lomond for a coffee, gazing out at the beautiful scenery of Loch Lomond and the Ben.

And home to an M&S meal and a big glass of red wine!!!!
