A coorying down sort of day, feeling oddly detached and spacy - not much good for anything really but sitting in a corner with a box of tissues reading all about soil development. Which is actually MUCH more interesting than you might think. Some of it might even have penetrated the fug.

Z went back up to London after a false start. She made it into work but was still upset when she got there. Fortunately her manager was kind and let her work in the stock room rather than having to persuade Knightsbridge customers to buy more baby socks than they could possibly use - or even lose if the quality has gone down in the last 15 years. If I remember correctly the USP of a certain brand of baby socks was that they were unpulloffable. I think her day gradually improved after that. Sigh of parental relief.
