Storm

A big storm blew in from the Bay of Biscay and rolled across all of south west France.  So  it was a day of dodging high winds and heavy rain.  The gusts were very strong around midday and we feared for the barn roof, but no damage was done even when a big thunderstorm banged its way overhead in mid-afternoon.  I felt sorry for the cattle in the adjoining field as they sought shelter wherever they could.  Curiously, about an hour before the storm arrived, the farmer separated out the pregnant cows from the others, taking the non-pregnant ones away and leaving the ones with calf to bear the brunt of the storm.
