Back On The Market?
We bumped into one of the campaigners who gave us an update on the proposed development on the Comiston Farmhouse site, and most interesting it proved to be. You may recall that a Developer had applied for planning permission to build several flats, which necessitated demolishing the house and removing most of the trees.
It seems that the Developer has been less than well-prepared for the enthusiasm of the local opposition and the Planning Committee has turned down the application. They may appeal but, as the property had been sold 'subject to planning permission' the house may well return to the open market.
Also, it transpired that the house had been advertised for sale merely as 'a development opportunity' and not as 'a house', its original function before acquisition by the council. It is still in reasonable order and could easily return to residential use.
So, Blippers (and all who read the journals), we have for your consideration a mid-19th century farmhouse in extensive grounds, with daffodils, apple trees, lime and cedar (see them in this photo), in a fine residential area with historical connections and near an excellent primary school.
Arrange your finances now and put in your offer.
Please?
Pretty please?
Oh, go on, it's a lovely house.
And we're such a nice community....
