It was fortuitous that the panic was over because we had been invited out for morning coffee and separately had invited friends out for lunch as the tavernas are opening up for the season. It is possible that the almanac was correct and that sunrise was at 06:30 but it wasn't until at least 08:00 that there was enough of our view visible for me to know in which direction to point the camera. The gathered group for morning coffee was the Island's north-end British ex-pat community together with Tony's widow who had come to begin the process of sorting things out. It was a genteel and very pleasant affair despite the fact that there was hardly any coffee in the brown water served to us. Our lunch meeting was with friends who have a cottage here and who normally visit several times a year. This was their first trip since the snow and they are reeling from the shocking losses in their garden. I don't think I have ever hugged so many people in a single day.
