McLoud

By McLoud

A simple bedroom from the past.

This quaint bedroom is in Townend House, Troutbeck, the former home of farmer George Brown.

The family was quite prosperous and lived comfortably in the village. Mr. Brown had a passion for carving and almost everything that came into the house, he carved. While some people greatly admire his handiwork, others think he ruined many a good piece of furniture!

The Browns lived at Townend for more than four hundred years and most of their possessions are still there. It's a lovely place to visit. Very atmospheric.

Wishing you always...
Walls for the wind,
A roof for the rain
And tea beside the fire.
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all that your heart may desire.

(Irish blessing)
