We arrived at a car park on the west side of Thirlmere and were delighted to find there's still no charge. It's a temporary thing while footpath repairs take place.

With no time restriction we first wandered along the lakeshore for a mile and back again. Then we took a footpath I haven't walked before and followed Wyth Burn gently uphill. We noticed a group behind and stepped aside to let them pass. That's when I got this shot. Further up there's a bridge which we crossed to come back down the other side. A pleasant walk except for getting my feet wet.
