Swinging Starling

The starlings are nesting in the guttering further down our terrace.  They are companionable birds so I have counted three nest sites as I watched them today.  They have also discovered the flutter butter and have cleaned us out of three whole jars in one week!  I'm guessing it must be good to give to their young, easy to swallow and very nutritious.  However, it takes some skill for them to successfully balance on the feeder and when they leave they set it swinging so the next one sometimes struggles.  One bird yesterday flew towards it as it was swinging and hit the plastic bottom with their beak, instead of the open end!  Endless entertainment!
