Monday: Hospital Corridor
Or, as K. just called it, the Hozzy Corry.....
I went with K. to an early hospital appointment this morning. She had another CT scan and was then 'mapped' for her radiotherapy which starts soon. Poor thing had to have her scan on a full bladder and was absolutely desperate by the time they finished.
Apart from our GP, K. has had three different doctors - oncologist, lymphoma specialist and radiologist. All have been marvellous, taking as much time as necessary, and with excellent bedside manners. It contrasts with our experience of overworked overstretched doctors in the UK - I remember K. going to the doctor when her mum was ill, needing to discuss something about her mum but also something for herself. The doctor said 'I've got ten minutes so you'll have to choose which issue you want to talk about'. We've never had that sense of being dismissed here.
