May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii

Mayor's Grand Prize - this is as close as I got. I figured this was more interesting than a view of the line which snaked back on itself along the viewing line going on three times.   Usually I go later in the day, when crowds have thinned, but today was early afternoon.     After 3 days of rain, this was a washed clean, brilliant, sunny day.   And hot, kona wind.   There was a steel guitar tent, food stands, hula, and lots of people in Kapiolani Park.
