Dottie

This is Miss Dottie who we have just collected from the Dogs Trust!  She is 12 years old and her chronic ear problem was allowed to get really bad which is why she ended up at the Trust.  She is wearing the dreaded lamp shade because she had an operation to remove the ear canal from her left ear last week and still has the stitches in.  If you look closely you can see where the left side of her head and ear have been shaved.  She has come home with an array of pills and ointments!  However, she is a very busy little person and has explored every inch of our house and garden in the last hour. 

When she has fully recovered she will also have to have the ear canal removed from her right ear.  Obviously she will then be deaf but apparently she was already very hard of hearing before the operation and doesn't seem to be too phased by it all.  We will take her in to see the vet next week to have her stitches removed.  Meanwhile, watch this space...
