Marley and Me

I've just finished this book. I felt smug when I realised that in fact, my dog is well-behaved in comparison. I laughed at the funny things Marley did and marvelled at how John Grogan and his family coped with such a delinquent dog. And I wept buckets at the end when they had to say goodbye.

My dog Toby is not the most affectionate of dogs, but, as the tears rolled down my cheeks, he left his cosy spot by the fire and jumped up onto my knee. It was as if he knew.
