DOF malfunction

I normally have my camera set on a big aperture to fuzz the background and isolate my subject in the foreground. This time I wish I had thought to go for the infinite focus. That blurry white and blue in the background is a snowcapped peak against a blue sky! Now all is gray and rainy...
But I do like seeing the tendrils curling around the Robin.
