Tree Dedication at Mount Holyoke College
Today we went to the campus of Marylee’s alma mater, Mount Holyoke College, where her class, the Class of 1967, was presenting a tree to their “Connections” Class, the Class of 2017 which will be graduating later this month. Fifty years separate the two classes and members of the Class of 1967 have been mentoring the Class of 2017 since they began their studies four years ago. Today’s ceremony dedicated a sugar maple tree which the ’67 group gave to the ’17 group. It symbolizes the link between the two classes and conveys the expectation that the new graduates will thrive and prosper as we expect the tree to do. (And they may visit the tree when they return to the campus in the future.) The extra shows the dedication plaque hung on the tree.
Later this month Marylee will return to celebrate her actual 50th reunion at Mount Holyoke.
