Let's go round again
Birthday.
Done.
Age is not just a number. It's how many years you've been alive for. How many times your birthday has come around. I know it's pedantic being so literal about it, but I think being in one's forties is something good, something to be enjoyed. I've reached a place, a state, a peace of mind that I didn't have in my teens, twenties and thirties. I like myself better. I look bloody awful right now and need to lose weight but I still do like myself better. And I may find friendship and enjoy the company of people who are younger and older than me but I generally prefer people who are a similar age. We just tend to have more in common.
We went for breakfast at the garden centre (all five of us together again! :o) ) and then I bought 3 flowering plants that should flower through October.
Unfortunately I quickly found myself suffering from a coffee-induced migraine and although I managed a walk to Morte Point (where the photo was taken) by the time we got home again I had to admit defeat and went to lie down in the dark.
The walk around Morte Point is lovely but it's quite long and we are nervous about taking the dog and the exhausting 7-year-old so we only went to the lighthouse and back. But I have fond memories of walking all the way around and look forward to doing it again.
After two hours lying-down I managed to pop some paracetamol and we went to the pub for tea.
Tomorrow I am starting a diet.
Wish me luck.
