Happy Constitution Day

Constitution Memorial day is a national holiday celebrated on the 3rd May. 

Unlike previous Constitutions this one, created in1947, declares that sovereignty lies with the people rather than the Emperor, asserts that people have fundamental human rights and renounces war. Apparently it's modelled on the American and British constitutions. 

It would appear that mostly people celebrate by shopping it was packed in town today and having photographs taken with mascots there was a queue for this little guy ;)
