Bumps in the Road

Off to school

It's funny.  The kids are always happy to leave the house and go to school but once they arrive they worry about very different things.

The wee man for example, panics that he'll arrive after his best friend Robbie, and will therefore be forced to play with someone else.  As soon as our boy walks through the school door, he bolts for the classroom, barely looking back as I shout "See you later son.  Love you!"

Meanwhile, the little walks towards the door and then suddenly clasps hold of my leg, saying "I want to stay with Dada".  We spend a few hours together each morning before school, and although affectionate, she's never so clingy at home.  The bribary of examaning her lunchbox or feeding the animals in the classroom usually allows me to break free, but not until we've negotiated for 5-10 minutes.
