Through the undergrowth
A bright sunny day today especially lovely when sheltered from the wind. I looked for inspiration through undergrowth and in the bottoms of hedgerows today and put a brightness filter on .
I never see him smile. His grey face is fixed in the distance. AHe walks the same route to the allotments most days. In the winter his hat is pulled firmly down but with warmer climes he simply raises it a little. I've never seen him without that hat, summer or winter. Sometimes he carries a small bag of vegetables, often nothing. Until recently I looked across ready with a greeting, as most people do around here, , but his head was always down and friendly was not how I would describe him. I wonder what he thinks as he walks along in his heavy gardening shoes and donkey jacket.
