New Family

This Goose family wasn't here yesterday so Mother Nature worked some magic overnight.

In the same stretch of canal last year, there was also a pair of swans and their brood. The Cob tormented the Goose family and drowned all but one  of the goslings. I witnessed some of this myself and it was quite distressing. Work was bring carried out along the tow path at the time and the workmen confirmed what was happening. Only one of the swan's cygnets survived so there's Karma for you!

I don't know if its the same Goose family and I don't know if it is the same pair of swans that have had their last two clutches raided. It's a hard life. 

A very quiet day at the club with 3 being absent. One in hospital, one with a UTI and one having his toenails cut!
