Don't open that gate

Walking in the Clyde Valley I passed between two fields with gates opposite each other and full of cows! As I got nearer they all charged towards the gates - kicking up hind legs - all swagger and bravado. I thought either they were rival gangs baiting each other or I was ambushed. To my delight a horse and rider came cantering along and the noise of the hooves had made the cows curious. Cows scare me - they're fine in fields with secure gates but I don't want to ever have the ignominious epitaph "crushed by a cow"
