Colourful Mai's Walk
It was the tenth anniversary of Colourful Mai's car accident which has left her with chronic pain - so she wanted to mark the day but definitly not with a drive. I suggested a walk to the next village and a pub lunch. Well the whole walk was accompanied by bluebells - and they are not even fully open in places!
We had a laugh over the fact she was wearing thick boy's socks - last time we did a walk her feet suffered! I did wonder if there wasn't an apostrophe it meant the socks she was wearing were from a thick boy?Or is it the other way round? My other wonder once more was about how many stomachs a cow had and did they just chew the cud from regurgitating the contents of the first or did they regurgitate it from each stomach? I think they are not actual stomachs as we have, just extended pockets of the bowel! I will google it at some point! We both agreed our memories are not what they were for facts and figures!
We had delicious strawberries from a roadside stall - and I had to include the photo in extras for alanwoodley4 and tedwin as I think they would appreciate it!
We sat in the pub garden and had a vegetarian pie with chips, peas and veggie gravy - I picked out the copious number or black peppercorns and Mai red peppers! She had a pint and I had a half! Then home across the open fields to and through Cotehele where we may have stopped for an ice cream!
In total the walk took over 5 hours and I think about 10 miles! I was feeling very tired on my return but had to pick up the clothes not sold by Make, Do and Mend. Not many had sold but a fellow declutterer was there with whom I have sold things at the Hafla. She came back from Thailand with one rucksack but now has a whole house of things she is desperate to get rid off. We both agreed buying was a useless panacea for times of dissatisfaction with ones life. So I guess we are both in a happy place if we want to free ourselves of their encumbrance? Strangely getting rid of stuff is proving as much of a drug as buying it! We plan to try selling our stuff at Nellie of the Woods crafts day in late May. Then it's the charity shops!
Our bluebell walk is here if you fancy tracing our many steps!
