Crossbill
Yesterday I went to a nature reserve in Rhayader, Powys with the Birdwatching Group. It was a lovely sunny day but a very stiff, cold wind. We heard lots of birds singing but saw very few - perhaps because of the
wind.
We were very pleased to see a crossbill but it was difficult to see as it always seemed to be behind branches. I took this pretty poor photo of it but it was the best that I could get. We also enjoyed seeing a pair of jays, a dipper and a few warblers.
