It must be nearly summer. Outside my study the thwack of leather on willow sets the scene for the next few months. Preferable to football (for a given value of preferable, as I've never been inclined to sports). The gentle ripples of applause are so much nicer than the "kick 'is bloody shins orf!" of the footie season.
