Sea Pinks

Beautiful sunny day to mark the start of a week's holiday for me :-)
Headed out to Westport beach for a walk on the sand.
There wasn't another soul there and we had the beach totally to ourselves.
All the lovely sea pinks were out and the islands were looking beautiful against the blue sky.
This is the view of Islay from the beach.
There were no waves at all today with the wind coming from the east. No surf. No surfers. Last weekend a surfer was washed out to sea by the tide after becoming tired and suffering from cramp.Finally rescued 13miles off the Argyll coast.A very lucky chap.
For lunch we went to The Tin Roof Diner out near the airport, which was nice for a change.
Apologies for lack of commenting but the week leading up to this holiday has been particularly busy so looking forward to catching up with everyone's journals :-)
