Went across to the market and stopped to admire a handsome couple of eiders; he had his back to me so his lovely colouring wasn't properly visible, but she's looking great. Very plump; I wonder if she's got eggs in there?

Went up the Canongate to meet some maths colleagues (including the lovely Shandonner) for a beer or two in the evening; persuaded D to come along with the assurance that not all of the talk would be about maths or the OU. Well, it wasn't all about maths or the OU!
