If you’d not chosen to reveal
that, all along,
she’s made it clear
her heart belongs elsewhere,
I’d have said
(like they do in the movies)
 ‘Go after her,
tell her how you feel’
but, as it is,
here’s the deal:
you can opt to wallow
in your despair
at watching her disappear
or turn on your heel
and not make a meal of it.
Either way, she doesn’t need to know,
or care.
