That really is quite a big tree. Would be really impressive if the copper beech wasn't even bigger.

The observant might spot the ladder.  No, we're not being burgled but are having the window lights (the inner frames that hold the glass) replaced in the Red room.  Local carpenters have re-made the lights, re-using the exotic Victorian metalwork that stops the rain coming in - as these open inwards .


As a bonus, they are now double glazed.
