What's outside my window
My first day home for 11 days and it is lovely to have a husband and a home to come back to. So I decided today would be a good day to participate in BlipCentral’s challenge for a view from my window.
The most important part of our house would be the porch that surrounds the back and part of one side. It has concrete floor with some gravel gardens and a few plantings of easy care grasses. We can sit out here on wet days, cold but sunny days and hot days if there is a breeze blowing to cool us down. 90% of the days of the year will see us outside.
I took the main photo from the bedroom which at midday gives better light out on to the back porch/patio area where we spend a lot of time. Too bright elsewhere. You can see the table and chairs ready for when we have meals there. Beyond is the lawn needing a mow and the maples shining in the sun.
We have large picture windows and ranch slider doors to let in plenty of light. Double glazed for insulation. The sun fades curtains, carpets and furniture but I wouldn’t be without it.
The extra is a view across the dining table through our smallest window with the clothes horse set up on the porch for wet days. The open plan house has a second sitting room area again looking out to the porch and garden. We have gardens along all our fences so something to see all round. The neighbour’s house is only one and a half metres metres away from the fence and quite visible but not obtrusive.
