Today was spent going to two museums and shrines. Two of the museums were the Hida Takayama Museum of Art (which houses amazing glasswork from parts of Europe and Japan and the Hikaru Museum (Light Museum) which is based on pyramids and has a lot of interesting art. It's quite a crazy place and huge. Good for kids with an archaeology section and dinosaurs, but also good for adults. I can't recommend it enough.

Went also to see giant wooden sculptures of the 7 gods of luck. Very interesting, the wooden sculptures were about 10-15 meters high, weighing in at about 10-18 tonnes each. Crazy.
