Ribblehead Viaduct (backblip)

In view of my companion's blisters we abandoned our plan to hike 18 miles to Ribblehead and took the bus instead. It still turned out to be an excellent day. We had plenty of time for a gentler walk around the famous viaduct; the main blip shows the scale of this amazing structure which dates from about 1860.

We stayed at the Station Inn, a comfortable pub with a friendly welcome and excellent food. We particularly liked the weather forecasting stone outside the building - see the extra!
