Cara from A'Chleit

14.8C with lots of sunny sunshine. ESE/E/NNE/NW moderate then light breeze.

Apothecary7's week off.

We spent some time in our garden this morning.
I stripped off a line of turf beside a fence and planted a Clematis in some good compost so it can grow up an ivy covered section of fence. The rest of the little border I created will be for Rosa Rugosa which we brought from Carnoustie in pots. Apothecary7 did some weeding and tidying round. The we got out our deck chairs from the stone shed and let them have an airing in the sun.

We went to Glenbarr for lunch. After lunch we bought a perennial Geranium to plant beside the Clematis. Theory is that it will provide ground cover and shade the roots of the Clematis. We also bought two big bags of compost, one of which I will use to replace most of the soil in the little border when I plant the Geranium and Rosa Rugosa plants ... perhaps at the end of the week.

Before we came home we went to A'Chleit beach. It felt warmer than 14.8C ! We had a wander then when coming back along to the car we met the artist who ran last Summer's Art in the Hothouse workshops at Glenbarr. There will be some more this summer. That's good news if Apothecary7 can get some Tuesday days off to match up with the dates.

Later Apothecary7 was starting a new painting.
