I met an old worthy in Stromness this morning (09.15 a.m. and I had a numb mouth from the dentist) and he was telling me about a wedding he’d been to.  He said, verbatim, ‘Do you ken nooadays wimmin fowk don’t wear hats at weddins, na, they have fornicators on their heids’
