Lobsters
Aye, well, a busy Monday.
Work mostly.
Then at 4:30 pm I returned to the campaign trail. I’d seen an appeal on Facebook for volunteers to stuff leaflets in envelopes. 52,000 to be done by Wednesday, when they’re booked to be handed over to Royal Mail for delivery.
I did it for 2 hours. I’ll go back for a couple of sessions tomorrow. Because this work is for our local MP at Westminster (as compared with last week’s efforts for the Fife Council elections) it’s a wider group of people involved. Most of my fellow envelope stuffers were people I didn’t know.
Interestingly in the context, a German campaigner has donated part of his workshop to use and a fellow stuffer’s wife is Danish.
I’d been unsure about getting back into campaigning right after last week’s election, but the media distortion of last week’s results motivated me. I’m sure I won’t be the only one.
Last (and first) time I stuffed envelopes was in 1978, during Perry Duryea’s campaign to be Governor of New York State. It wasn’t my choice - my boss volunteered me.

I had time for a quick coffee in Dysart after lunch and got a Blip there again. Most boats are back in the water now. Leaves on trees, boats in water... spring has sprung.
