September challenge Day 10 - Black and White
Such a miserable and rainy day so I think "black and white" worked well for today's blip.
Me and Hugh took a trip to the fine art library in town (right hand side of the photo). I wanted to see what books I could find on starting up careers in illustration (although to be honest I really didn't find a lot) I think I'll get somewhere with it eventually (well I'd like to think so anyway) it really is just starting out that is probably the most difficult when no one knows who you are or is generally hiring anyone. We also barely got any proper guidance about how to find work in such an area. But I'm getting a bit sick of people constantly asking what I'm doing with myself now or have I found a job yet when it's really not that simple. Bleh. I really just need the time to figure out the best way of approaching shops, companies etc and how I can best show my work. Takes an unbelievably long time rather than just handing out a CV when a job becomes available.
Anyway despite all this (and the rain) I still had a nice day with Hugh. He always makes me smile and I did find a few good books which will hopefully come in useful and inspire me. I'll get there
