Disappointments and joy

Well!!! We never expected today to turn out the way it did, but you live and learn (or whatever you're supposed to do) everyday!

After physio with the amazing Mel, I met up with the cousins and friend Bonnie and headed out to China.

Farah and Alan were going to get their visas at the border, and after an hour long wait, they went up for their turn only to be denied entry! No reason, just NO!!!

Needless to say we were livid at the outright refusal, seeing as other Canadians were getting their visas, but this particular officer stood her ground and just did not give a reason for refusal. It really was quite shattering as you can't help but feel she was being 'racist' as the other Canadians were white or Chinese, and Farah did proceed to tell her so.

So we left Bonnie in Shenzhen and headed back to Hong Kong a bit frazzled and in shock as to what just happened.

I decided to take them to Mong Kok for some retail therapy and they were well therapy-ised!

Then to Tsim Sha Tsui for a Star Ferry ride back to Central and to another wonderful dinner produced by the amazing Martin!

Sharing the incident with Martin did bring back memories though and we couldn't help feeling rejected and down again.

Hopefully Macau will cheer them up no end tomorrow. Bring on glitz and glamour and everything else.

This is a typical Hong Kong street scene and the extra was at the Ladies Market. Yes, the pink tea pot was screaming out to me ....
