Bourganvillier ??

This was supposed to be a picture of the flora around a Casita and how well we had pruned it. It ended as heated discussion on how to spell Bourganvillia/ Bourganvilier and does it really matter? And are they both correct somewhere? And was it the name of a real General?......
My coffee went cold. My cup's green.
