On the way home from our trip to see relatives we passed the Text House in Denholm near Hawick. The house where the local surgery was held was designed and commissioned by Dr John Haddon in 1910 and has texts on the outside walls. One of the texts on the front elevation is a reminder to take care with time or it will pass quickly, "TAK TENT IN TIME ~ ERE TIME BE TINT", the other text reminds the occupier that people lived in the house before them and others will continue  to live in the house after, "ALL WAS OTHERS ~ ALL WILL BE OTHERS.  This text is on the sundial in Edinburgh’s Meadows and probably several others.   Apparently there also used to be additional text from the bible.
