Nettlebed

It's where these two glittery green insects have chosen to take their pleasure. As they are Green Nettle Weevils Phyllobius pomaceus it's hardly surprising that they both live off,  and love on, their favourite plant.

Since nettles have, since prehistory,  provided us human beings with both nourishment and weaving fibre  we could do exactly the same.
 Nettle sheets were highly esteemed in Scotland at one time.
